And the Nominees Are

A hush fell upon the audience. Anticipation tiptoed through the aisle. The spotlight shone as bright as dreams and hopes, and television was golden tonight. And the envelope was slit open, and stars dangled over the edge of their seats. And the nominees are...

It was a Royal Rumble over Best Drama. The depth of drama emanated through Raising The Bar, and the talent of the cast was overwhelming. But the fires raged deep within Rescue Me, threatening to engulf all those that stood in the way of the gold, and Tommy Gavin and crew storm through hell and back, tearing down the walls of conflict, and raise the bar another notch higher. But Burn Notice ignited around them, and wearing his usual dark sunglasses, Michael Westen flashed that brilliant smile of his and entered the ring with his two comrades. But the dark side of life and the power of addiction takes the wheel of The Cleaner, and the unsung hero, William Banks soars over the ropes and stands toe to toe with those before him. And the award for Best Drama goes to... Dark Blue, an intense, driven new show that walks the streets of crime with a crew of mystique that risks all to protect lives.

The giants of Comedy soared high above the waves of laughter and cascade of tears, and the best line-up shows were ready to take the night. But two nominees would not go down without a fight. A cross between Indiana Jones and The Sentinel, two secret service agents find themselves confronting the impossible, deadly artifacts that need to be grabbed, bagged, and tagged and locked away, but it's not all quiet on the warehouse front. And a former agent may be one step ahead in this hip, intriguing show on SyFy called Warehouse 13, but the agents may face an even more formidable foe, a doctor that makes house calls. A sweeter version of House, Hank Lawson went from E.R. doctor to doctor for hire for those rich and famous and living in the Hamptons, but chasing his charm is his brother, Evan, who is heavily armed with sarcasm. And this dynamic duo breaks forth in a hot new series on USA called Royal Pains, and despite neither show winning the award, their golden streak has only begun.

The streets are broken, jagged, and fires burn throughout the night. And darkness creeps in, threatening to consume, to tear apart, and only hope could push the demons aside. But the past is an angry ghost that refuses to let go, and moving forward is a struggle to bear. But as destination is sought, lives fall into their hands, lives to be saved and lives to be changed, but their life still lies in question. And only God knows what waits ahead, but they would never give up. And the conflict of their life is theirs to keep, but this world needs them. And the nomination for Best Actor in a Drama Series goes to Dennis Leary and Benjamin Bratt for introducing us to Tommy Gavin of Rescue Me and William Banks of The Cleaner, conflicted but passionate characters that thrill and chill us with the stories of their lives.
