And the Show Will Be Called.........."Conaw"??

Conan O'Brien, as we all now know, was pretty much screwed over by NBC and Jay Leno. If you remember, Jay Leno had decided to retire or step down from his late night spot, the ever-popular 11:30 - 12:30 hour. Conan O'Brien, who had the later late night spot after Leno's show, was to take his place. And, so he did. But not for long.

Conan O'Brien earned that prestigious late night spot. He is an excellent writer (he used to write for Saturday Night Live), and a quirky funny guy . He'd gained a strong following and fan-ship, if you will. People were ready for Conan to step up. It was time. Personally, I was a Johnny Carson fan and now a Letterman fan, so it did not make me unhappy to see Leno retire. But, Leno didn't retired. He decided to have the same sort of show he used to do on his late night show: interviews, actors as guests, songs sang by recording artists etc...but at 10pm each night. That bombed. Not a shock to a lot of us.

In a nutshell, Leno wanted his spot back. And NBC should have said, sorry, you gave it up, Conan is in, we want to see what he can do, go back to your 75 exotic cars and drive somewhere. But NBC gave in, wanted the old Leno ratings back and they booted O'Brien out of his new spot.

TBS, owned by Time-Warner, smartly offered O'Brien a deal and a show, and this season, you can watch Conan O'Brien on his show, aptly called, "Conan." Who is "Conaw" then you ask? I'm getting there.

The first show will air Monday night, November 8 at 11pm eastern standard time. Hope everyone will make the attempt to watch. I have boycotted Leno completely, even though I usually watch(ed) Letterman if I stay(ed) up late enough. Even if Letterman was/is a repeat, I'd rather see it again then switch over to NBC. Let's all give Conan a chance. I am at least going to give him that first half hour!

I like Leno and Conan both. I think NBC messed with both of them. Hope both of them do well.
