Upon the hill, stood a castle
beaten and weathered by the years
but something drew her nearer
relinquishing all her fears
Alone she stood in wonder
how she happened upon this place
for she knew not of its existence
before this time and space
But there it was, abandoned
stripped of its glory from the past
with battle scars of wars long gone
a kingdom destined not to last
Then suddenly, to her amazement
the castle commenced coming to life
and like a slow motion movie
played right before her eyes
All the hustle and the bustle
of daily life, from centuries ago
as people walked amongst her
her presence, to them unbeknown
With, both peasants and nobility
amidst the marketplace, as she stood
and there her gaze fell upon
a man, who looked both kind and good
Something haunting drew her closer
his face, she just had to see
for there was something so familiar
she wondered, could it be?
His stature and gentle manner
became apparent to her right away
much resembling a special man
one she'd known in present day
But her heart was torn in pieces
for she knew not if he cared
or if there'd be some future
one that they would someday share
Something always deep within her
told her they were both old souls
traveling through many lifetimes
together, never letting go
Just as these thoughts came to her
a young maiden, held out to this man
through the crowd, they came together
both reaching out their hands
He leaned down to her face
and gave her lips a gentle kiss
there was something special in their love
something, she just could not miss
She saw the woman's face
a tear, trickling ever slow
as one appeared upon her own cheek
it was then that she did know
The castle gone from sight now
people, dissipating one by one
she knew there was a reason
why this vision had begun
Now their aparitions fading
into the past, yet once again
her heart was now contented
knowing, her future
.......... was with this man
