And I was Whirling Around

Mike Thomas
And I was exploring around because I could
Seeking the life in my limbs that for so long had been without
Seizing the moments as I lived them instead of the past of what use to be
Inhaling energy in every breath.... how sweet the air can be to an awaking soul

And I was searching around alone---in great company I came to know
Grasping our minutes and hours together wishing I had days
Wondering what was around the corner instead of dreading the boredom of predictability.

And I was whirling around content-still feeling the life return to my soul
When I felt a warmth around me and wanted it to remain
It didn't impede my path, but made for smoother travel
It didn't critique my purpose or method, but instead shared my
randomly organized path.

And I was chasing around, smiling inside and out
Feeling a sweetness that had escaped before
Admiring her personality from a source deep within
Remembering her touch and the feel of her skin
Sinking into the safety of my thoughts

Now we are slowly exploring together, sharing our thoughts
Enjoying this space and moment in time
Laughing at each other and ourselves and the world

It feels good to be happy.
