Remember those wonderful Easter egg hunts of your childhood? The excitement of finding an egg and the even greater excitement of opening that egg to see what was hidden inside? Being grown up doesn't mean you have to miss out on the fun of Easter egg hunts. Cincinnati area residents have the opportunity to enjoy their very own Easter egg hunt at the Anderson Parks District Annual Adult Egg Scramble. Sounds cute, huh? Or perhaps a little dorky? Once you learn more about the Anderson Parks District Annual Adult Egg Scramble you will want to attend (or wish you lived closer to Cincinnati so you could)!

While traditional Easter egg hunts are adorable affairs where children carefully place found Easter eggs in their baskets, the Adult Egg Scramble is much more chaotic. The Easter eggs for the Anderson Parks District Adult Easter Egg Scramble are scattered throughout a large field. There are no bushes to hide eggs behind, trees to place eggs in, or other obstructions. Before the whistle blows, participants line the edges of the field, standing behind a well-marked line. When the whistles blows, it's every man (and woman) for himself! Every adult taking place in the Anderson Parks District Adult Easter Egg hunt takes off at the same time running like mad to gather as many Easter eggs as possible. True chaos ensues for about 2 minutes. After 2 minutes, the entire field is wiped clean of every Easter egg. People fall down, people get muddy (depending on the lovely and unpredictable Spring weather), and people have a terrific time.

So what would motivate adults to take part in this crazy event? Other than the obvious fun of running willynilly around a field like a crazy 6 year old, the prizes offered in those precious Easter eggs are potentially a little more exciting than jelly beans. Prizes such as gift cards, Cincinnati Reds baseball tickets, sunglasses, and fine jewelry are hidden in choice eggs. Some lucky egg scramble participants have the opportunity to take home much more than chocolate.

The Anderson Parks District Adult Easter Egg Scramble starts promptly at noon on Saturday, April 3rd, 2010. In order to participate in the Adult Easter Egg Scramble, you must be 18 years old and pay a fee of $2.00. Prior to the Adult Easter Egg Scramble, more traditional Easter Egg hunts for children of all ages take place in the same park. Instead of finding treats inside the eggs, children simply find eggs and redeem them for a goodie bag.

For more information about any of the Easter fun the Anderson Parks District offers, visit their website at www.andersonpark.com. After seeing photos of this totally unique event, you will want to find, or start, an adult Easter egg scramble in your city.

Very interesting event. Who says adults cannot have fun finding Eggs during Egg Hunt?
It makes them active and happy. It gives them something to look forward to have fun with their fellow participants. Good job E.Harmon.
