Angel of Destruction

Terri Deno
You come to me

Whenever I have been pushed to the ground.

And you start to kick me.

Right where it stings.

-

You blame me for what's happened in my life.

Saying I shouldn't do this, shouldn't have that.

But I'd like to see what you could do.

Could you survive?

-

I am introverted.

You are ashamed of me.

I'm scared to death of everything.

You tell me to get over it.

I express myself with words.

You ignorantly smile at my soul on paper.

I become closed off, very private.

You invade my belongings, my life, my soul.

-

My life is a mess.

I know not whether I am hear or there.

And yet you feel obligated

To try and push me over the edge.

-

You are the Angel of Destruction

Beating down my door.

Stomping on my soul, killing my will.

You'll never cease to let my live in peace.
