But which of these two huge movie stars is more popular today? To answer that question I ran their names through a number of Internet websites and these are the results.

Johnny Depp - 11.2 million
Running their names through the Google Search Engine reveals that Angelina Jolie has almost 5 times the number of results that Johnny Depp has. And the number for Johnny Depp is impressive by itself as it equals the number of results generated by Harry Potter stars Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint have Combined.

By better than a 2 to 1 margin Angelina Jolie's name is searched for more often than Johnny Depp's name is on the Internet. Again the number for Johnny Depp is still impressive as he beats both Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston by wide margins.

Again by almost a 3 to 1 margin Angelina Jolie is linked to more videos on YouTube than Johnny Depp is. Once again Johnny Depp has an impressive number as more videos are linked to his name on YouTube than to Jennifer Aniston, Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint combined.
Angelina Jolie is More Popular Than Johnny Depp Today
By a wide margin Angelina Jolie is more popular on the Internet today than Johnny Depp is. There are 5 times more results on Google for Angelina Jolie than there are for Johnny Depp, twice as many global monthly searches for her name and she is linked to almost 3 times as many videos on YouTube.
As I have pointed out the numbers for Johnny Depp are impressive as he is clearly more popular than famous people like Harry Potter stars Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint as well as celebrities like Jennifer Aniston. But the numbers for Angelina Jolie are off the chart as she is arguably the biggest star on the planet today.

I love them both but to be honest Angie's popularity is more base on gossip and her personal life than her career. Johnny in the other hand is a very private person and he is famous because his career is incredible. Don't get me wrong Angelina is a great actress and Johnny is awesome too.
Jolie gets more hits coz guys wanna see her naked and stuf, i searched cos i heard about her kissing her brother (shes weird) not because she is talented. Johnny Depp is a far better actor. And as far as jolie and aniston goes, well the latter wins hands down in every department and Pitt must be kicking himself for leaving her for such a skank
I wouldn't say google results show who's more popular. Johnny Depp is known to be private so there wouldn't be as many stories about him as with Jolie who is constantly doing photo ops for all her goodwill trips and has such an unusual life, that she often gives TMI about, she would have more online to look at. I, as well as many other people I'm sure, look her up in hopes of a break up story about them, not because I like her more than Johnny Depp. Same thing with the same poll you did with Aniston. She's just as popular as Jolie, just doesn't have as much drama in her life.
