The food at Angelina's Mexican Restaurant is great, as you can get traditional Mexican and Tex-Mex. (Tex-Mex food is a bit different form traditional Mexican food, borrowing more from Mexican Peasant dishes, and using more spices)
Located at 4851 Main Street in The Colony, Angelina's Mexican Restaurant sits on the bank of Lake Lewisville. It is great to go to Angelina's at sunset and watch the sun sink gloriously into the lake. It adds a certain ambiance to the food.
Angelina's Mexican Restaurant also has a patio overlooking the lake which is encloses. During the spring and autumn months the staff opens the screens and a nice breeze blows in off the lake.
Angelina's Mexican Restaurant also hosts live music. We have gone a few times to see local bands play while we enjoy a meal. As a matter of fact this past 4th of July, we went to Angelina's to see a friend's band play and at dark went outside and watched the fireworks display from over the lake. This is an annual event at Angelina's.
Angelina's Mexican Restaurant boasts a full service bar, with many different beers wines, and mixed drinks available. Their Margaritas are excellent.
The food at Angelina's Mexican Restaurant is excellent. However there are times the service may leave a bit to be desired. When you arrive at Angelina's you will be seated, and a server will take your drink order. Then you will have a basket of freshly baked tortilla chips and salsa brought to your table. They make the salsa daily at Angelina's s you can always be assured it is fresh.
Up near the front door, is a tortilla baking machine, which at certain times you can watch a staffer make the tortillas that are served in the restaurant.
You can get great appetizers from nachos to quesadillas, to Stuffed Jalapenos. There are so many great entrée items, that to simply name a few would not do them justice. You have to come to Angelina's and try the food. You'll come back again and again.
If you live in the Dallas area, or are passing through and are looking for great Mexican and Tex-Mex cuisine, I heartily recommend Angelina's Mexican Restaurant in The Colony, Texas.
