Angels, Heavenly Creatures or Our Servants?

MJ
I have met quite a few people who think of angels as servants. They send them on all sorts of errands. In my mind comes the picture of a very busy household with servants flying around to cater for every need of the owner.

So, what are angels? They were not born, like you and me, nor are they male or female, although they might appear in male or female form. They are not human and so don't eat, shower or brush their teeth. They were created by God." So", you're asking, "and what is that going to do for me?"A lot, but it needs a bit of explanation. Since they were created with specific jobs in mind , and work for only one Employer, you can not ask for their services, directly. You have to ask their Employer first, if it's convenient so to speak. Since their jobs are specific it has no use to ask for an angel who has something else to do. So leave it up to Him.

There are angels whose only job is to glorify God, there are guardian angels, fighting angels, and angels who look like you and me and work among us. The fighting ones are big. If you suspect black magic, curses put upon you, are afraid of demons, any danger at all, there is Archangel Michael. He will protect you against any of this. Archangel Raphael is for physical healing, he is gentle. Archangel Gabriel is a communicator, and keeps you from telling lies. I will not bore you with an endless list here. I merely want to point out what their functions are and how to recognize one if you are ever to meet one.

Since they consist of a different energy from you and me, they can move very fast. They don't have wings, not the feather-kind anyway. People in the Middle Ages depicted them that way because they couldn't explain the quick disappearances. They seem to "shine" or "glow" sometimes. This light comes from within, not an outside source. The guardian angels are very, very patient. They keep us from harm, but sometimes they have to let us come to harm. This is usually a Command from the Boss or your own fault. We are not always listening to our "instincts" or souls, whatever you call it. Our minds usually yells over that tiny Little voice and tells us that a situation is completely rational, while there might be danger lurking in the background. If you start listening very carefully to that little voice inside you, you'll start to become more "tuned in" and it will grow. It will keep you from making bad decisions in life. You will grow a stronger connection with God and so with your angel.

As you can see, I am not in favor of sending these enlightened creatures on all sorts of errands. It is not my job, nor do I have permission to do so. You have to treat them with respect, love and gratitude. They are usually a cheerful lot. Apparently they see their job as the best job in the Universe! (well, they have a great Boss don't they). So how do you recognize an angel?

If they were to walk our streets in white robes, light shining, everybody would look. Indeed people would think they were Jesus and fall on their knees, unbelievers included! This is exactly the attention an angel doesn't want. This is reserved for God. Angels like to work, not exactly in secret, but more unnoticed.
So they try to blend in. My guess is that on every busy shopping street there are at least a couple of angels walking around, without you noticing them at all. They are usually well dressed (I wish I could afford that type of designer-clothing), and amazingly there are no creases in the fabric. I have training in fabrics and the like so I notice nice clothes when I see them. The second thing is the face. They are almost never over 35 years old. But the most remarkable thing is the eyes!!
The sweetest, kindest, clearest friendliest eyes you've ever seen in your life. When you look into those eyes the world seems to stop for one moment, even if the angel is across the road. You will know when you see one, believe me. And the good feeling and memory will stay with you forever, as clear as the day of the encounter. But once you've seen one, and are noticed, they are gone. They smile and in a blink of an eye gone, away on their Heavenly Errand.

So, if you ever wake up at night and see an angel standing by your bed, you know it is guarding you and under High Command. When you smile, they"ll smile and are pleased you acknowledge that. And thank their Boss now and then, it is appreciated!

I never knew I could write until I joined AC. I paint, I write, love animals and ironing. (no not the last one but it looked better).  View profile
