Angels & Spirit Guides

Whether you know them as Angels, Spirit Guides, Guardian Angels or Spirit Helpers, these magnificent Beings are yours ... perfect, devoted and true soulmates. It is their loving protection which keeps you from harm and their gentle nudge which inspires your greatness. So who are They and why are They so committed to your well-being?

Every culture has protector spirits or guardians who watch out for the well-being of the living. For the Native Americans, they're usually power animals which imbues the person with the skills and strengths of the mighty animal. In Christianity, Angels are the protectors of the devoted followers with each person appointed two Guardian Angels who watch out for them personally. In almost every tradition, departed Loved Ones often become the protectors of the living as they watch closely from the Other Side of the Veil. All of these scenarios are accurate!

Just as every person has their own path--their own calling to Spirit--so too do Spirit Guides take many forms. In fact, they take every form ... depending upon what the situation requires and of course, depending upon the belief system of the person being protected.

Although I was not raised a Christian, Archangel Michael, Mary Magdalene and other Angels are often by my side assisting me in my daily life and in my work. For a time, I was confused by this: "If I'm not a devout Christian, why are these loving beings looking out for me?" I'd ask myself. The fact is, these protectors reach out to love, protect, and guide us regardless of religious affiliation -- and even in absence of any spiritual beliefs at all.

The job of Spirit Guides, your devoted Assistants, is to protect you! They do this by orchestrating events in your life, by popping thoughts into your head at just the right moment, and by sending people into your life to help steer you in the right direction. "Coincidences" and seemingly random accidents are their most favored method of direct connection with you. For them, protecting you is not a job carried out by duty, but it is their "soul" purpose for being.

Think of a time when you completed a task you were passionate about. Whether rebuilding an old car, decorating your home or giving your time by helping others, these efforts were not required of you. But once completed, you found yourself swelling with pride, satisfied from a job well done, and filled with excitement and fulfillment. This is what every moment of every day is for our Loving Helpers. It is their passion, their most heartfelt mission, to help us. And the best part: They do this out of total love and devotion (even though, this is sometimes quite hard for us human beings to believe in such selflessness).

From the time of our conception, Angels are present to ensure our well-being. They travel with us throughout our life and are committed to us more fully than we may ever realize while here on earth.

You may even encounter an Earth Angel from time to time, stepping in just when you need a hand. I had my first experience with one when I was 15 years old. I was driving a girlfriend's car on a rainy night in an unfamiliar part of Houston. Being an inexperienced driver, I took a turn too fast and spun out blocking all oncoming traffic on a busy freeway overpass. I was shaken and frozen -- unsure what to do next. In a panic, I restarted the ignition and drove the disabled car out of the roadway. A stranger in a tow truck stopped, replaced our tire, and drove off into the night.

In the days before cell phones, I was barefoot without a license and certainly had no money nor credit card! Had anyone else driven on the freeway at that time, we would have been sideswiped or worse. Had that tow truck driver, my Earth Angel, not been there at that time, we could have been met by any stranger whose intentions weren't so altruistic.

Call it a miracle, a coincidence, or just lucky, I knew this to be the work of my Spirit Guides.They were there to protect me that day and have been there every day before and since. I have spent many years cultivating that relationship, getting to know Them and quieting myself enough to hear Them. They ask not for payment, nor gratitude, but simply ask to be heard. Spend a few moments each day in quiet and you can begin to hear, feel, and know Them too. If you know you are loved, supported, guided, surrounded and protected all the time by these selfless and powerful divine helpers, what can't you accomplish in this world?
