Angels and Spirit Guides: What's the Difference

Have you ever heard a quiet voice whisper an uplifting message of love in your ear? How about a sense of peace that overtakes you when you're feeling your lowest? These are the messages of encouragement from your spirit world allies, also known as your spirit guides and angels!

While angels and spirit guides work in tandem and frequently have similar roles in your life, there are distinctions between them.

An angel is a being of light and love who has never physically incarnated upon the Earth. Angels are our helpers that inspire us and fill us with love. Angels carry a very healing energy and can help us achieve our goals and provide support even in our darkest times. The one catch with angels is that they will not (or cannot) intervene on our behalf unless we ask. When we do ask for their help, they will only provide our request if it doesn't directly interfere with a life lesson or our greater goals.

Spirit guides on the other hand have lived many lives upon the Earth. These were our most trusted colleagues when we were in the realm of spirit, before we had a body. Spirit guides work with us on our day to day matters, and may have a specialty role that they play for us, such as Healing Guide, Doorkeeper, or Joy Guide. Our guides may choose to intercede without our permission in rare cases where we are endangering ourselves. They help us to keep on track of the goals that we gave ourselves for this life.

Both our guides and angels only act in our highest and best interest filling our lives with light and love. There are many different theories concerning how many guides and angels are assigned' to us. It has been my experience that most people have at least one main' guide , and several more guides of a more specialized nature (at least four). A person's main guide or primary spirit helper acts as non-corporeal best friend who is always at your side and helps in all aspects of life.

When I asked Christine Sonnen how many angels we have assigned to us, she responded "All of them." Most people have at least two angels visibly around them at any time though. You should also note that you may always call for more angels to surround you. Since they don't have to worry about time and space, they can all be more than one place at the same time! They are happy to come to our aid whenever we request them to do so!
