Jeff Schuman
Anger is a very strong feeling of unhappiness about something. Anger Management is a movie starring Adam Sandler and Jack Nicholson, but that is not important right now Managing your anger is important not only to yourself, but to everyone around you.

Here are 6 tips to help manage your anger.

1. Take a deep breathe. This will help you feel better emotionally and physically. It will give you a second to calm down. Breathe in, breathe out. Breathe in , breathe out. Now don't you feel calmer!

2. Call a friend that you now you can talk to. Talking to someone who knows you gives you a chance to express you feelings and get another point of view. Maybe you have a right to be angry. Maybe not! Your friend can give you their 2 cents worth. After a short visit you will be able to rationally think about what you are angry about.

3. Go exercise somewhere. Take a walk. Exercising is a great way to blow off some steam. Take a bike ride. Get some fresh air. Try and get into a daily routine of exercising. You will find you are more relaxed and confident and you will think clearer as well.

4. Write down your thoughts. Try and see things from both sides. List what you are angry about. Do you have a right to be angry. What do you want to do about it? Write everything you can think of and do not stop until you run out of ideas. This is very liberating and a great way to express your feelings of anger.

5. Do something that relaxes you. Go to a movie. Listen to music. Take a nap. Doing something that is relaxing allows you to put things back in perspective. Anger is a state of mind that you can change by changing how you view things.

6. Get away. Take a 3 day weekend or a vacation. Sometimes you just need to get away. A change in environment may be just what the doctor ordered. A 3 day weekend is great to recharge the juices. A full vacation really allows you to get away. Many businesses that give a 2 week vacation require that 7 days of it be taken in a row. They do this for a reason. We all need to long break away from our day to day routine.

These 6 tips can help you manage your anger. You may know of something else that can help. The important thing is to do something different to change the environment around you when you are angry.
