When children feeling sad, they will try to be silence and keep to themselves. But when they did something wrong and feel guilty they will try to stay in their room and fear to talk to adult. Whereas, when they get angry they will throw a tantrum such as breaking their toys, scream or talk rudely.
Children always show their feeling through the action as the old saying actions speak louder than words.
If your children showing the signs of anger, bursting into anger and rolling around the floor tantrums. I would not recommend you to enrol your children to participate in the anger management programs that are available. All these programs teaching and recommendations will be too mature for children to understand. Children at such a young age will face difficulties to understand their teaching methods and recommendations. A counsellor as a strange adult does not expect to open up children's heart and tell them their emotion leading to anger.
I try out few methods and discover that by using games to control children anger is the most effective way. Children are always keen to play games, so try to instil the positive values and behaviour in the games. You will be surprise that this is much more effective compare to one to one anger management counsellor session. Make the games for anger management interesting by offering and supplying the colouring pages, puzzles or quizzes that would make the anger management for kids attractive and motivating.
Games or activities for children anger management is effective because children take part in the games without recognize it. So, children can quickly ignore their feelings and at the same time they will not be able to think swiftly and rationalize their decisions. At such a young age, children will not have the capability to understand the anger management perception.
As a parent, we must teach our children how to control their anger as this will affect our children needs to behave correctly to different scenarios. Through repetitious actions and training, children will eventually learn how to control their anger. Parent working with children have to patient and you will see the results at the end of the day!
