The ALF guidelines are:
1. TO liberate animals from places of abuse, i.e. laboratories, factory farms, fur farms, etc, and place them in good homes where they may live out their natural lives, free from suffering.
2. TO inflict economic damage to those who profit from the misery and exploitation of animals.
3. TO reveal the horror and atrocities committed against animals behind locked doors, by performing non-violent direct actions and liberations.
4. TO take all necessary precautions against harming any animal, human and non-human.
5. To analyze the ramifications of all proposed actions, and never apply generalizations when specific information is available.
Many of the Animal Liberation Front activities are non-confrontational in nature. They involve encouraging veganism and the boycott of all animal products. They spend time performing e-mail campaigns against companies that are hurting animals, signing petitions and participating in public protests. They do not advocate physical violence against humans, and no person has ever been injured or killed by Animal Liberation Front.
The Patriot Act section of The Animal Liberation Front Forum discusses some legal ramifications an individual may have supporting animal rights. It used to be that committing a crime such as raiding an animal lab could get you into legal trouble which is understandable. But now our government has changed radically since post 911 and people have been arrested for simply speaking about animal rights. One issue is "The Green Scare" about a man named Rod Coronado. Coronado gave a speech about his involvement in animal rights and was imprisoned. The link above shows several people being imprisoned because we unfortunately seem to be losing our freedom of speech in America. Many people involved in animal rights do not know what they can safely say in the US anymore. Sad to say, the FBI has actually classified Animal Liberation Front as domestic terrorists. My opinion is that any normal person that took the time to get to know The Alf would not agree with that conclusion.
I have spent much time reading over the whole website but my favorite place to hang out now is on the forum. The Animal Liberation Front forum is huge. They have sections on News, The Patriot Act, Security, UK News, France News, Canadian News, Logic of Animal Rights, Challenge Animal Rights Philosophy, Shopping, Pets, To Do List, Health, Vegetarian Newbies, Polls, Vegan Recipes, Vivisection, Food, Clothing, Writing, Music, Quotes, Media, Zoos, Circuses, Rodeos, Hunting, Fishing, Cockfighting, Celebrities, Politics, Animal Rights Links, Formal Debate section, Human Freedom and more.
Another interesting section is The Logic Of Animal Rights which has many threads and subjects on the philosophy and morality of animal rights. The Challenge AR Philosophy section is kind of an unusual part of the site because it has threads started by people who do not support Animal Liberation Front. Usually they are started by people that drop by to debate. The Admin doesn't want to delete them so they just move them to their own special section. Animal Liberation Front is a fun website for animal rights supporters to get together and learn.

Post a CommentYes, ALF. America's homegrown terrorists. But they do not go far enough. We must stop human beings from consuming any living matter. Plants, bacteria, viruses. They are all equal in the eyes of ALFies. From now on only Soylent Green. End species-ism and Kingdom-ism (Animal Kingdon vs. the other Kingdoms of life). Soylent Green only until we can turn ourselves into non organic robots.
i love animals, especially dogs, great article.
