About Animal Outreach Humane Society. The Animal Outreach Humane Society of Mchenry County is a non-profit, volunteer organization whose goal is to help Mchenry County become a no-kill community in which adoptable and/or treatable cats and healthy feral cats are not euthanized. They work hard to find homes for adoptable cats and to spay or neuter feral cats in order to control the feral population. All animals adopted through the Animal Outreach Humane Society are also spayed or neutered, plus fully vetted, micro-chipped, dewormed, tested negative for FELV/FIV, and current on distemper shots.
Cat & Kitten Adoptions at PetSmart. The Animal Outreach Humane Society has cats and/or kittens available for adoption year round at the Mchenry, Crystal Lake, and Algonquin PetSmart stores. The Mchenry and Algonquin stores house cats and kittens from the Animal Outreach Humane Society on site that you can visit any time during business hours. The Animal Outreach Humane Society is at the Crystal Lake PetSmart on selected Saturdays from 11a.m. to 2p.m. doing on-the-spot cat and kitten adoptions. They are also at the Mchenry and Algonquin stores doing on-the-spot adoptions on selected weekend dates from 11a.m. to 2p.m. To see these times and dates view the Animal Outreach Humane Society's "See All Upcoming Events" on their homepage. You can also view cats currently available at the Mchenry and Algonquin PetSmart stores, all the cats up for adoption, and general adoption information on the Animal Outreach Humane Society website under "Adoptable Pets".
The Animal Outreach Humane Society does not have a shelter facility so all cats and kittens up for adoption are either fostered in loving, volunteer homes or housed at one of the PetSmart stores.

Normal adoption prices from Animal Outreach Humane Society are $100 for an adult cat and $125 for a kitten with some prices being lower for cats with special needs. Post a CommentThanks for bringing the local plight of these animals to light. It's truly disheartening for those of us who do rescue work to watch the sources of help dry up due to the economy.
There are so many needing homes. I work with feral cat rescue to try to do my part. It can be sad at times.
