Many of the people who believe that animal communications are genuine initially overcame their resistance to the idea by witnessing an animal psychic at work. As with any discipline, there can be frauds and charlatans; but there is a sufficient number of intuitive people out there who are able to provide "owners" (animal communicators generally don't refer to them as such) with amazingly accurate details about their pets. Some can do this just on the basis of seeing a photograph or having a simple phone conversation. From this humble starting place, communicators are not only able to confirm facts that they could not have otherwise known but even provide insights to people who lived with their pets every day and yet could never uncover the real issues troubling them.
How do animal psychics do this? Many of them seem uncertain about how the process actually works, but they've simply learned to trust their intuition, gut feeling, or sixth sense. They typically claim that the communication is not verbal like human speech; even messages heard mentally are not presented with words but rather some concrete feeling impressions. Perhaps we could refer to these people as "animal interpreters", because one of the real miracles they perform is the translation of these inner impressions into accurate observations.
It seems, also, that animals crave human understanding. In reading a number of accounts about animal communication, I was struck by how often the mere fact of being heard was enough to initiate a pet's healing process. Perhaps animals spend a great deal of time wondering why we don't listen to them more often.
The wonders that professional animal communicators have worked are almost too numerous to mention. They have gotten to the root of behavioral problems and physical ailments with pets. They have found lost dogs and cats. They have served as medical advisors for people with sick pets and passed on the message when an animal really preferred to pass away. Sometimes, they even help people to deal with the grief of losing beloved pets by transmitting their communications from Beyond.
Perhaps, in time, more of us will become attuned to receiving emotional messages from animals. If and when that time comes, we might realize that we have as much to learn from the birds and the beasts as they have to learn from us. In the meantime, animal psychics perform a valuable function by serving as a bridge for us between our consciousness and that of the animal kingdom.
