"The shelter is over the top full and is having to put dogs in foldaway crates as they have no more room," states an email. "They need these dogs to go to rescue or adoptive homes in order to make room to save dogs that are in danger."
The Elmore SPCA is located in a temporary building as it is.

In unrelated pet news, a Chi dog, Mawi is in urgent need of donations in Los Angeles, CA after he was hit by a car. The surgery will cost thousands of dollars.

In other animal news, the Humane Society of the U.S. (HSUS) is urging all concerned citizens to submit comments to the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) asking them to implement cost-effective and humane methods such as increasing the use of fertility control to manage the wild herds.
"After years of mismanaging wild horse and burro populations by unjustifiably removing them from their environment by the thousands through cruel, costly roundups, the BLM is now soliciting input from the public on how to reform its broken program and ultimately create a more humane, fiscally responsible, sustainable approach to managing wild horses and burros on our public lands," states Wayne Pacelle, president and CEO of HSUS in a press release.

In other news, after seizing 13 allegedly abused dogs Baker County police charged Cletus Gaskins and Omar Aldridge with animal cruelty and dogfighting.
"Dogs raised for fighting are forced to live desperately, repeatedly suffering ruthless gruesome abuses as well as systematic neglect," states a mass email from the Animal Legal Defense Fund (ALDF). "On March 8, 2011, Gaskins and Aldridge pleaded no contest pleas charges of both cruelty to animals and fighting or baiting animals '" both felonies under Florida law."
