I am nothing but a dewy-eyed stone
Rounded off by the abrasions of time,
Otiose as the cold and listless moon.
Rounded off by the abrasions of time,
Otiose as the cold and listless moon.
I lie, working my way into the earth,
Moving through this metamorphic passage
To know the heat of conception... once more.

Post a Commentwonderful imagery...I really like 'dewy-eyed stone'
Poetry with education I love that! Had to look up "otiose" which gave a better understanding of the line written. How often have we all felt like stone....Very interesting metaphoric expression. Thank you great poem and also the add.
Beautiful poem
I agree with Paul. You are a poet par excellence and I love each of your work.
A lot of people write a good poem or two, but it's your consistency regarding good quality work which is notable.
Works on many levels. Thanks for the read. I'll have to check out more. (Thanks too for the add and the comments. I'm adding you as well.)
