Animating the Word Missouri in Flash CS3

  1. Open Flash and create a new flash file with action script 2.0
  2. Use your text tool and type in the word Missouri.
  3. Select your text on the stage and right click. Select break apart. This breaks up the word in to separate letters. There should be boxes around each letter
  4. With all the letters still selected right click and choose distribute to layers. This will put each letter on its own layer and name it according to the letter name. For instance M for Missouri
  5. Move to frame 10 in your timeline and select frame ten on your M layer. Hold down shift and select frame ten for your I layer. At this point all the layers should have frame ten selected at once.
  6. Insert>Timeline>Blank Keyframe
  7. Move to your I layer and select the keyframe that is on frame one. Left click , hold down on the keyframe and drag over to frame2. If you did this right there should be a blank keyframe on frame1 for your I layer
  8. For your First S layer move the 1st keyframe to frame 3
  9. On your second S layer move the 1st keyframe to frame 4
  10. For the O layer move the 1st keyframe to frame 5
  11. For the U layer move the 1st keyframe to frame 6
  12. For the R layer move the 1st keyframe to frame 7
  13. For the last I layer move the 1st keyframe to frame 8
  14. For each letter layer move what is now its first keyframe to a random spot on the stage
  15. For each letter layer select all the keyframes and create a motion tween
  16. Create a new layer and name it Lotto.
  17. On your Lotto layer using your text tool type in Lotto and place it accordingly.
  18. Move the keyframe for your lotto layer to show up only on frame 10
  19. Create a new layer and name it stop actions
  20. In your stop actions layer insert a blank keyframe on frame 10
  21. Right click on frame 10 of your stop actions layer and choose actions.
  22. In your actions panel toggle down timeline control and double click on stop. Close the panel.
  23. Play or file>Publish Preview your animation to see the final outcome
