I know I know, it's hard to believe, but the release of Rosario + Vampire 2 is here! Before reading take note that this is a sneak peek at the new Rosario + Vampire series and a review of the first season. Whether your going to watch it subtitled by your favorite fan-sub group, or watching the raw Japanese version, I'm sure were all in for a great time, seeing as the first season of this comedy anime was filled with adrenaline pumping action, and tons of laughs.

In episode one Rosario + Vampire 2, Moka is stalked by someone who turns out to be her sister, and her sister actually wants to kill her. The two fight over and over again in different situations for about two episodes. Shockingly enough, the narrator from the first season turns out to be a shape shifting weapon for Moka's sister.

Turns out the two sisters have a rivalry, but Moka's inner vampire actually likes the sister and they always play fought; though Moka would always win. Which is why Moka's sister is now back and wants pay back. Which is pretty much all that happened in the first episode of Rosario + Vampire 2.

Far as a summary of the first Rosario Vampire series goes, Rosario + Vampire is about a human boy named Tsukune Aono who gets sent off to a private high school by his parents, not knowing they are sending their son off to a high school for yokai (supernatural monsters). Each of the monsters in the school are required to take a human form and not allowed to show off their abilities or even tell others of their identity as far as monster races go.

On the first day of school, Tsukune happens to bump into Moka Akashiya, who turns out to be a female vampire with a rosary around her neck. In the first part of season two we find out that when the rosary is pulled off, Moka's inner vampire is released. This inner vampire, has an attitude all her own, and much wisery then the normal Moka, often giving her advice on various things.

Through-out the series, new female characters are introduced and seem to have a thing for Tsukune, but Moka always remains the main love interest. Of course this adds up to a harem situation as the girls fight over Tsukune, who is secretly just a human. Other then Moka, there is a succubus named Kurumu Kurono, a young witched named Mizore Shirayuki, and finally an ice creature named Mizore Shirayuki.

Additionally two more female characters are introduced, but one isn't shown till the end of season one, that would be Ruby Toujyou, an older witch from the human world. Aside from that, season two will feature Moka's sister who is also a vampire of course, although the inner Moka and her normal personality feel very differently about this sister.

Towards the end of season one, the group has to work together to defeat a group at school called Anti-Thesis, who are a group of hybrid monsters. Hybrid because of the fact that they each carry the blood of two types of monster. The reason why the two groups battle is simple, because they find ot Tsukune is a human, which at that school is against the rules and he is to be killed.

During the fight with the leader of the group, Kuyou, Tsukune is killed for the time being as Moka quickly injects her blood into him. The big twist of season one is that Tsukune is transformed into a "Ghoul", which in this case is a type of vampire that becomes a mindless killing machine. In season two you will find that through the help of an exorcist, Tsukune is able to control his newly found powers.

If your looking for blood and gore, this probably isn't the anime for you, but if your looking for great laughs and a good time, then this is the anime for you. So what are you waiting for, check it out.
