I bet you don't care about any of that though, you just want to know about Tokko and if it's worth watching, am I right? Perhaps, please allow me to explain the storyline first though, as that is of course very important. It all starts out in the Middle Ages, a rich family has a puzzle box made for them, so that they can gain immortality. Little did they know that the box would also open the gates to hell, or the demon world.
Turns out that 108 demons escaped, and the box was shattered into 108 fragments which are now hidden inside each of the demons. The demon portal itself must be closed before it shallows up earth, however if the 108 fragments are collected then everything should turn out alright. Now we fast forward to present day, where a man named Ranmaru lives in the western part of Tokyo with his young sister. Five years ago, his parents were killed in a unsolved apartment complex massacre, and for some reason he has strange dreams of a girl with blood all over here while carrying a large sword.
Ranmaru joins the The Special Mobile Investigation Troops First Division to avenge his parents, on his first day on the job, he spots the girl from his dreams (Sakura Rokujo), and she is a member of Tokko, basically a super sexy yet secretive cop. Many rumors spread about Tokko. Each member of her group has a tattoo, or a "symbiont tattoo," which means a demon is inside them.
It is their job to hunt down each demon, knowing that one day they will have to give up their own lives for the good of the world. Sakura and Ranmaru start to fall in love, and Ranmaru is excepted into the group and finally learns the truth about what killed his parents. The thing is he also has a fragment of the puzzle box inside him, but yet he chooses to track down the demons with Sakura and the rest of Tokko.
While theres not much else to this anime, I recommend it to fans of action anime. Know that it also has tons of blood and gore, even if you watch on Sci-Fi channel they show pretty much everything. Only down side is, this anime could use some serious animation remodeling.
Final Score- 4 Stars
