Anna Kournikova

Anna Kournikova has managed to do what many of us only dream of doing. This Russian-born girl is semi-retired, wealthy, and is known in nearly every home in the United States.

She was born on June 7, 1981, in Moscow, to very young parents, Sergi and Alla. Her father was a Greco-Roman wrestling champion. Her father later became a professor in Moscow at the University of Physical Culture and Sport, as well as a Martial Arts instructor.

Her mother was another leggy blonde with an athletic background; she herself was a 400-meter runner. With two physically active parents, Anna was getting a good start in the world of sports. When Anna was only five years old she was given a tennis racket for Christmas. Who knew then that she would grow up to be the world's number one doubles player! She emigrated to the US with her Mother, breaking into the top ten in 2000. She has not been playing with the WTA Tour since the year 2003.

No one really knows if she has ever been married. Rumors have had her married to Sergi Fedorov, nut there has been no real clarification of a marriage or divorce.

In spite of her tennis-greatness, Anna Kournikova is best known for her modeling career. She was only fifteen years old, when her beauty was first noticed by the world, and her career as model/spokesperson took off.

She became the new face for Berlei, selling shock absorbing sports bras. The moto of this sales campaign was " only the ball should bounce". Her face was scattered on billboards all over. There have been many photos published of Anna, wearing very little.

Perhaps one of her most well-known photo shoots was that in the 2004-2005 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. In this phot shoot she was wearing swim suits of course! She was also published in Maxim and FHM.

People magazine listed her among the years 50 Most Beautiful for 4 years. She also won the title of Hottest Athlete as well as shared the title of Hottest Couple with singing star Enrique Iglesias.

Anna Kournikova has now settled in the Miami, Florida area and plays often for charities. She participates in events for well-knows, such as Billie Jean King, Elton John, Andy Roddick and Serena Williams . Injuries prevent her from playing full time, but you will find her doing charitable work such as this quite often.
