Plans to lay Anna Nichole Smith to rest have been made for Friday, March 2, 2007.

The plans that have been announced include an early morning flight, where Anna Nicole's body will be transported by air flight to Nassau, Bahamas. There will be an invitation only funeral service at a Baptist Church in the Bahamas. After the funeral service, there will be a private burial at Lakeview Cemetery.

There will be 300 people invited to the funeral service. Each faction of last week's dispute, Howard K. Stern, Virgie Arthur and Larry Birkhead, will be allowed 100 invitations. The burial ceremony will include only 30 guests. The burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Nassau.

The memorial service reportedly will feature a lot of pink, which was Anna Nicole's favorite color. There will be a large amount of pink flowers. A well known performer, whose name is undisclosed, will sing.

A friend of Anna Nicole, Patrick Simpson of Beverly Hills, California is quoted by the Associated Press as saying "It will be a very beautiful Anna Nicole send off. Of course it will be over the top because it's Anna Nicole". Simpson's partner, Pol Atteu, has designed more than a dozen gowns for Anna Nicole, including the one that she will be buried in. She will be buried in a "Very elegant" casket. The casket will most likely be closed.

When Anna Nicole Smith buried her son, Daniel, she had a large green tent erected. The tent blocked the media and spectators from witnessing the event. Organizers of tomorrow's service will probably block spectators in the same way.

The Bahamian attorney for Smith's estate, Wayne Munroe, was quoted as saying that the Florida court ruling was "common sense". Monroe told the AP, "Everyone in this whole sage knows what her wishes were about every aspect of her affairs - custody, property, everything. But people are steadfastly trying to get their wishes met an not hers. Nobody seems to care about this woman's wishes."

The controversial funeral has been in dispute, with parties fighting in court over control over the body of the famous covergirl, model and television personality. Anna Nicole's mother, Virgie Arthur, contested plans by Howard K. Smith to have Anna Nicole buried in the Bahamas.

Anna Nicole has been living in the Bahamas since the birth of her baby girl in September, 2006. Her 20 year old son, Daniel, died suddenly while visiting his mother and baby sister, just three days after his sister's birth. The cause of death was determined to be drug related.

Anna Nicole purchased two burial plots at a small cemetery in the Bahamas. Howard K. Stern maintained that it was her intention to be buried next to her son.

Virgie Arthur, Anna Nicole's estranged mother, contended that she should be able to make the decision about the funeral and have custody of Anna Nicole's bode. As mother, her attorneys contended, Virgie was next of kin.

Judge Larry Seidlen determined last week that custody of the body would got the the surviving daughter. Since the daughter is only 5 months old, the decision about funeral arrangements was award to the infant's court appointed guardian. The guardian determined that the funeral would be held in the Bahamas, with respect to Anna Nicole's apparent wishes.

The famous model and television personality died suddenly on February 8, nearly 3 weeks ago, at the age of 39.

After listening to arguments from 18 lawyers, representing different parties, last week. Judge Seidlen awarded control of Anna Nicole's body to the advocate for Smith's 5 month old daughter, Dannielynn.

The cause of Anna Nicole Smith's death,on February 8, 2007, is still unknown pending autopsy results. The body of Anna Nicole Smith has been kept in cold storage at the Broward Medical Examiner's Office. The release of the body was initially delayed for the collection of DNA samples. The court action regarding the custody of her body has delayed the burial even further.

One of the determinations of the February 28 hearing was that the intention of Anna Nicola Smith should prevail, in the disposition of her body. When he son, Daniel Smith, died unexpectedly in September, 2006, she purchased two burial plots.

Her long-time companion and lawyer, Howard K. Stern, contended that Anna Nicole's' desire was to be buried next to her son, Daniel, who died suddenly in the Bahamas in September, 2006. Anna Nicole reportedly purchased two burial plots, one for her son and one for herself. The unmarked plots are in a small cemetery in the Bahamas. According to testimony that Howard K. Stern, he quoted Anna Nicole, "she said "if Daniel has to be buried, I want to be buried with him' ".

Florida Circuit Judge Larry Seidlen, tearfully rendered a decision last week, to release Anna Nicole's body to her 5 month old daughter's court appointed guardian. Judge Seidlen urged that the burial proceed and encouraged an expedient funeral in the Bahamas. The Judge did not render a ruling about the place of burial, but made a recommendation.

Last Wednesday, there was a private viewing of her body. The participants in the court action, including: Virgie Arthur, Larry Birkhead and Howard K. Stern. There were concerns that the legal wrangling was taking up valuable time, as the body of Anna Nicole decomposed in storage. The Judge has expressed concern that a person valued physical beauty in life should be able to be beautiful in death, for the viewing.

Later this month, hearing will start in regard to complicated paternity issues. Howard K. Stern's name is on the birth certificate. Larry Birkhead is contesting the paternity on the birth certificate, stating that he is the father. A separate paternity suit has been filed by Frederic von Anholt, the husband of actress Zsa Zsa Gabor. Frederic von Anhalt has claimed that he has had a 10 year affair with Anna Nicole Smith and that he could be the baby's father.

Anna Nicole's 5 month old baby girl is reportedly in the Bahama's. As Anna Nicole's next of kin, the baby is in line to receive a fortune worth several million dollars The fortune has been in dispute since the death of Anna Nicole's Smith's late husband, oil billionaire Howard Marshall.

Anna Nicole Smith married Texas oil tycoon, J.. Howard Marshall II in 1994. She was 26 and he was 89. She has been in court disputes with his family over his fortune, estimated at $500 million, since his death in 1995.

Great piece Christine. However I now hear the biological father of Daniel is asking for permission to exhume Daniel's body to be reburied in Texas! This is so sick isn't it? I hope the burial goes as planned tomorrow and then everyone can fight over their bodies and will they will then be unlikely to be able to change anything once they are in the ground next to each other where they belong.

If only people had been half as kind to her in life as they are interested in her affairs after her death.
