Anna Nicole Judge Larry Seidlin to Get Show

The Travesty of Justice Continues

FOX News is reporting that a source has told them that Judge Larry Seidlin, of Broward County, Florida, has been given a show on the CBS network. Details are not yet available, but apparently the suspicions of many that Judge Larry was auditioning for a show have been confirmed. Few observers would be surprised. Most might be sickened by the televised goings on in his courtroom.

The erstwhile Judge Seidlin presided over the custody case for the body of the deceased Anna Nicole Smith. During proceedings that could have been accomplished in hours that were strung out for days, Judge Larry took the whip at lead the circus. His grand finale was the crying game at the close of the hearing where he broke down more than once for the cameras. The theatrics of the judge who meandered around the details of what should have been a fairly simple case was the latest in a long string of celebrity cases that are more "entertainment" than justice.

From the O.J. Simpson case, the trend of celebrity court cases that are theater has become big time entertainment in America. With the far more important Scooter Libby trial being sent to the back of the bus so that networks could cover the "Judge Larry Show" constantly, broadcast news in America took one more step away from legitimate news coverage. The networks, the judge, and the American people who couldn't get enough of it are all to blame.

Judge Larry Seilin, originally from New York, is 56 years old. He managed to get his resume and past into national coverage, including the fact that he once drove a New York cab. He picked out nicknames for attorneys and witnesses. He never tired of rambling on about unrelated details of the case in his own self-promotion.

ABC News reported this past Thursday that his wife, Belinda Seidlin said "People who know him, and people that meet him on the street all say the same thing, 'You should have your own television show.'" She also said "I don't think him to be crazy at all." And "I find him brilliant." Now that's a supportive wife.

Now that the media circus has moved to the Bahamas the change in decorum couldn't be more dramatic. There aren't cameras in courtrooms, and the judge doesn't even want to talk to the media. With the travesty of what a courtroom should be that was the Larry Seidlin court, more Americans will surely be pressing for cameras to be taken out of American courts.

I will BOYCOTT CBS in my house. This man ruled so wrong in this case and I would never watch him on TV. What a jerk giving a dead body to a child. The law said it goes to a parent. All he said was 'this about that little girl' but would not just order the DNA test. MORON! Stern will kill that baby like he did her mother and brother. Stupid justice system!

Watching him and his crocodile tears sickened me. What a travesty.

Not surprising, it was pretty obvious that was what his goal was. I just thought after all the mockery over him and his showbiz dreams, that any respectable network would have passed.

I couldn't stand Judge Larry Seidlin and his theatrics, and will surely NOT be watching his show!

I can not believe this, they should just let the poor woman rest in peace. Everyone in this situation i feel is greedy!

Instead of getting his own show, that "judge" should have been placed on disciplinary leave and written about in a "That's Outrageous" segment of Reader's Digest. How disgusting! But, you were right, where there is demand, there is supply.

This is absolutely sickening...great article by the way...this judge was such a joke. He turned the courtroom into his stage. Shameful.

"Will America wake up before it's too late?" No. It is already too late.

This is a sad example of how the American society is so easily fooled by the wagging of the dog. The fact that you used the terms broadcast news and legitimate news in the same sentence is crazy. Will America wake up before it's too late?
