Anna Nicole Smith Bio and Quotes

Jason Earls
Anna Nicole Smith led an unusual life. From getting married at the age of 17 while working at Jim's Krispy Fried Chicken Shack in Mexia, Texas, to becoming Playmate of the Year in 1993 and later starring in her own reality TV show, she definitely had a rags to riches experience.

In February of 2007 she collapsed at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and her bodyguard, "Big Moe" Brighthaupt performed CPR but could not revive her. She was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital where a doctor pronounced her dead at about 2:49 PM. Because Anna frequently appeared in public in what many suspected was a drug-induced stupor, people automatically assumed the cause of her death was a drug overdose.

Her real name was Vickie Lynn Hogan and she was born on November 28, 1967 in Houston Texas. In 1991 she began taking voice and modeling lessons and later saw an ad from Playboy Magazine stating they were seeking new talent. Anna sent in her pictures and Hugh Heffner was blown away. Mr. Heffner put Anna on the March 1992 cover of Playboy magazine and the rest took care of itself.

Anna Nicole constantly struggled with her rapidly fluctuating body weight most of her life. She was the largest playmate in the history of Playboy magazine with a height of 5'11" and measurements of 39DD-27-39. At one point her weight climbed as high as 224 pounds, but usually during her modeling years she stayed about 140. Later the Trimspa company came to her rescue and Anna lost 69 pounds while on their program, and eventually she took a position as spokesperson for the company.

The E! Network gave Anna her own reality TV show in 2002. In it Anna prominently displayer her outrageous and humorous behavior and the show picked up a small following. But the show ended up receiving quite a few bad reviews and was unfortunately canceled, which personally upset me since I loved her show and thought it was hilarious.

Although Anna Nicole Smith did not say very many deep or profound things in her life that we know of, the statements she did make give us a little insight into who she was as a person. Below are 19 quotes by Anna Nicole Smith and one by Judge Seidlin, the man who presided over the Anna Nicole Smith hearings.

"I just feel a connection with Marilyn Monroe. I just love her. I just completely feel what she went through."

"It's very expensive to be me. It's terrible the things I have to do to be me."

"If I have another child, I doubt I'll get married again. I don't think men particularly want to be with me."

"I am just so happy and thrilled and I am so glad Mr. Hefner chose me."

On her late husband, J. Howard Marshall:

"I was 23, and he was 86. I saw a very sick man. I just wanted to just talk with him. There was no physical attraction at all. He was very much attracted to me."

"Men don't even ask me out. I can't remember the last time I was asked out on a date, and I'm talking years here. I spend my life more and more alone."

"I don't have a boyfriend right now. I'm looking for anyone with a job that I don't have to support."

"I have been alone since my husband died. I stay in my home. I don't date. It's hard to date when you're at home. Nobody knows you."

On her late husband, J. Howard Marshall:

"I don't understand why God took him and didn't take me."

"I'm an animal lover."

"I'm going to fight until the end. My husband is worth it. He wanted me to have it. He was worth a lot. He was a very, very wealthy man."

"At Crispy Fried Chicken, I worked there for four years, that was fun. I was a breakfast cook. My first husband worked there."

"I am sure counting on the court to give me my money, 'cause all I want to do is move from this house and get a better one and just start over!"

"I did Playboy. There was an ad in the paper for playmates. Playboy called me and flew me to Los Angeles, and I was on the March cover of 1992."

On her late husband, J. Howard Marshall:

"I wanted to have children. I owed it to him. I wanted kids, and it was time to get married. We tried, but it didn't happen."

"I do take two pills a day, to maintain my weight."

"It's been hell, between the hospitals and the ulcers and the nervous breakdowns."

"Living in a small town, I knew everybody and everybody knew me."

On her struggles in life:

"It's always a battle. It's always a fight."

Judge Seidlin:
"Anna didn't really realize that life is a rollercoaster, as we all know. It's got its ups, it's got its downs but you gotta hold on tight, you gotta hope tomorrow is a better day."
