Anna Nicole Smith Dead at the Age of 39

According to a member her legal team, she collapsed while in residence at the Seminole Hard Rock Cafe Hotel and Casino. After being unresponsive she was rushed to a south Florida hospital and later pronounced dead.

Hotel spokesperson, Dianelle Giordaano said the model and Trim Spa advocate arrived Monday at 8 p.m. and was due to check out on Friday.

CNN is reporting that Anna Nicole's personal nurse called the hotel staff and security at 1:38 p.m. Paramedics arrived soon thereafter and the reality star was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital which is located in Hollywood Florida.

Smith's life has been embroiled in controversy. Prior to her death she and ex boyfriend, Larry Birkfield, had hit the star with paternity suit involving Smith's daughter Danielynn Stern. Smith maintained that long time attorney and companion Howard Stern is the child's father. Smith and Stern failed to present the baby for a January paternity test. It was was widely believed that Smith and Stern were still in the Bahamas' where they'd been avoiding U. S. legal summons.

A few days prior to her death Smith was named in a class-action lawsuit for her part in promoting weight loss supplement TrimSpa X32.

Smith and Stern exchanged commitment vows soon after Danielynn Stern was born. The child was named after Anna Nicole's son, Daniel White, who died in the infant's hospital room. Medical officials reported that the 20 year-old had methadone and antidepressants in his system when he died.
