Anna Nicole Smith's Doctor Acquitted on All Charges

Anna Nicole Smith's doctor acquitted on all charges in California. A jury acquitted Dr. Kapoor on all charges related to giving Anna Nicole Smith prescription drugs illegally. Her boyfriend or husband, Howard K. Stern will also learn his fate today.

Her boyfriend Howard K. Stern and Dr. Sandeep Kapoor and Dr. Khristine Eroshevich were charged with conspiring to obtain prescription drugs illegally for Ms. Smith. It is alleged that the doctors wrote prescriptions under false names for Stern and Stern picked up the drugs and gave them to Smith. All three knew that Anna Nicole Smith would be consuming the drugs.

Anna Nicole Smith died of an accidental drug overdose in 2007 while she was visiting Florida with Howard K. Stern to pick up a yacht the two were purchasing. Anna Nicole Smith whose real name was Vicki Lynn Marshall became famous because of her playboy good looks and her marriage to an oil tycoon, J. Howard Marshall ll. There has been a continuing court battle over an alleged inheritance from J. Howard Marshall II after his death in 1995.

At the time of her death, Anna Nicole was very depressed because her 21 year old son had died about nine months before unexpectedly of a drug overdose right after she gave birth to her daughter, DannieLynn. Her son was visiting her in the hospital when he fell asleep in a chair and then did not wake up.

Initially her boyfriend, Howard K. Stern claimed to be the father of DannieLynn and tried to fight for custody of her because he thought Anna Nicole would want him to do so. Later it was proved that Larry Birkhead was the true biological father of DannieLynn. Stern made arrangements to give DannieLynn to Birkhead who has been raising her as a single dad since 2007. DannieLynn is now three years old.

Howard K. Stern had been an unpaid lawyer and friend of Smith for many years. From 2002 to her death in 2007 he claimed to be her boyfriend. The two had a wedding ceremony on a boat in the Bahamas but it was later found out that it was not official.

It is unbelievable that a jury would acquit Anna Nicole's doctor, Dr. Kapoor, when clearly he knew that the prescriptions were being illegally obtained under a false name for Smith.

Anna Nicole wanted the drugs to relieve her emotional pain and she knew the risks involved in heavy drug use. She will be dearly missed.

Howard K. Stern and Dr. Khristine Eroshevich, her psychiatrist were found guilty on multiple counts in the same trial.
