Anna Sui's Gossip Girl Line Hits Target Stores Nationwide

Fashion designer Anna Sui has created a line inspired by the popular show "Gossip Girl." She came into designing the line in a rather unusual way. She was on a business trip in China where she encountered all kinds of odd questions from girls pertaining to the television show "Gossip Girl", shown on the CW cable channel here in the United States. Over there, the show was being viewed on personal computers with Internet access, which is nothing unusual. That inspired Anna enough to create a line of junior fashions for Target, which appears in the chain department store across the nation this week. These clothes definitely contain a piece of each character in the popular series. The collection itself has a variety so at least one dress will appeal to a girl, even if she does not like the other characters in the series.

Anna uses black, white, red, blue, and brown combined with some Asian inspired trims that no doubt came from her trip to China. The black and white minidress has such a design at the hem and at the neckline of the dress worn with a black overcoat and black tights. Opaque black tights are seen with many of these minidresses which is actually a nice touch and gives a more modest yet daring look. Victorian style fashions appear in the form of minidresses too, one which is white with an elaborate lace pattern in the fabric, with a blue bow at the neck (think Sweet Lolita here.) Another favorite is thenblue minidress with a small black pattern worn over black tights and a matching black belt with a bow tie at the neck. These clothes are very feminine which say either "sweet" or "daring" or both, depending on which character from the television show you want to be. Prep school was never this exciting before, and best of all, fashions like these allow you to role play, which can be lots of fun to do at your regular school.

Since the "Gossip Girl" line is already in stores, there should be trouble when it comes to incorporating these fashions into your regular wardrobe. Select the minidress colors that appeal to you the most, and purchase several pairs of opaque black tights to wear with the dresses. The tights can also be worn with any minidresses you may already own. Combine a few sequined tops with a black miniskirt for evenings out on weekends. My pick for sequined top colors: red, bright pink, and green.
