Anna's Room #5

What remained of the body of that poor man left all by himself is too horrific to describe. I pushed the grisly images out of my head post haste! Besides, I was preoccupied by a much more pressing matter...Anna was missing.

After some wheedling, the crew had managed to talk her into staying in her room for the last several nights, making big promises that they would protect her with all of their fancy equipment. Since they had most of their equipment setup in the old hospital last night, she wasn't going to stay in her room. The leader of the paranormal crew however, thought it was still necessary for her to in order to attract the presence which visited her. He reassured her that their handheld machines would alert them in plenty of time to protect her.

Boy was he wrong! The single camera they had left in her room showed a dark shape that appeared above her bed. In the next instance it swooped down, covered Anna and swept out of the room. Anna was no longer in her bed. Presumably the evil thing took her. Now the question was, "where?"

Needless to say I was furious at the crew. So much so that I did not speak to them, but instead proceeded to search the hospital halls alone.

I went down each and every hallway, opening every single door. I probably looked like a madwoman going in and out of each room as fast as I could. The crew was looking too, but they were going much slower, relying on their equipment to give them clues.

I'm not sure what time it was when I finally reached the last room on the 4^th floor. There was no sign of Anna or of the evil presence. I shuddered as I realized I would now have to go into the lower levels of the old hospital. Pausing a moment, I considered waiting for the crew so that we could down as a group, but they were still on the 3^rd floor. No, there's no time, I must go alone. (Where is my husband anyway? He should be here for this!)

Of course the 1^st lower level was much darker than the upstairs floors, having no windows to let in outdoor light. This made it much creepier. Still, the thought of my daughter pushed me onward down the empty hallway lined with pipes. When I got about halfway down the hall I noticed a dim light coming from underneath a doorway all the way at the end of the corridor. I ran toward it, trying not to make any noise.

I was thankful when I saw it had a small square window. My heart filled with joy when I saw Anna inside. The joy only lasted a moment though, because there was still the matter of getting her out. She was strapped to a metal table and there was someone in a surgeon's uniform on the far side of her. Their back was to me so I quickly surveyed the rest of the room through the little window.

To the right there was a large clear glass tube standing on end, large enough to hold a person. It looked like something right out of a sci-fi movie, with a bunch of tubes and wires coming out of it all over the place. On the left was Anna, the surgeon and a table full of nasty looking medical tools.

Suddenly the door flew open and I was enveloped in a blinding white light...
