As Anna looked down at it again, the test read negative. She blinked for a minute then looked at it again. Her and Eric had been trying for a baby for three years. It made her feel helpless. She wanted a baby. A bundle of joy. An amazing wonder of life. Boy or girl would not matter to them. She walked out of the bathroom. One small tear trickled down her cheek. Why? Why couldn't she just have a baby? She walked over to the counter and paused. Then Anna picked up the phone and heard the ringing, waiting for Eric to pick up the phone. "Hello?' Eric said as he picked up the phone. Silence was on the other end. "Honey you okay?" Silence was there for a few more seconds. Then slowly and calmly she said,"Eric, it did not work." Eric said very lovingly," Sweetie, I am so sorry! I know you and even I do not want accept this just isn't going to happen. We are going to have to look for other options now." Anna could barley speak. " I know Eric, I just hoped......well, I'll let you get back to work." She placed the phone back on the counter. As she walked up the stairs, she started thinking a million thoughts of hopes, wants, needs, and dreams. Then she stopped in front of one the doors, pushed it open and looked about the room. A wood rocking chair with a green cushion on it. It was sitting below a window. Along with a crib that had green and yellow sheets. There was a small dresser with two little white frames and a plaid yellow lamp. It was a beautiful little nursery. They had put this together three years ago when they first started trying to conceive. It had been waiting for the little blessing whole time. She started sobbing while sitting in the rocking chair. After a while of crying she stopped and got up to leave the room. She did some house cleaning, went for a walk with their dog, buddy. When she got home, she made some dinner. Eric came up behind her and gave her a hug and apologized. They ate dinner and went to bed. No spoken words all evening. Both feeling awkward to their situation. The next day after he left for work. Anna went outside to a beautiful Spring morning. Blooms and green everywhere! She went over to her flower bed and started pulling weeds. Putting new bark down and around. She was in awe of this Spring day. So much growth and miracles. She went to the hose to put water in her bucket. On her way back to the flowers, she felt something foreign to her, in her stomach. A little twitching. Slowly she placed her hand on her stomach. Then quickly she dropped her bucket and ran in her house. She grabbed her phone to call her friend Joy. Questions flew out of her as soon as Joy picked up the phone. She informed Anna to make a doctor appointment. Two days later she was sitting on a table in a hospital gown. So very nervous. She was tested and checked. The doctor told her she was four and a half months pregnant. Really? Was all Anna could say. She explained to her doctor the whole negative test and troubles of getting pregnant. After the appointment. She ran to her car and drove over to Eric's work. He was sitting at his desk. She burst in. He had a look of shock on his face. "What?" " Were Pregnant!" she said. "How...Wait, What?" She told him everything that had happened. They hugged for a few minutes. Then he had to get back to work. She went home with joy and excitement! A Spring day full of blooms and miracles. What a blessing!
Five Months Later,
Push Anna! You can do it! After ten minutes, a bellowing cry echoed through out the hospital room.Out came a baby girl. Six pounds , ten ounces, and eighteen inches long. They looked at each other with joyful tears. They held her and said to her," Faith, you are our real Spring miracle!"
