Anne Francis, Pete Postlethwaite Die; Macaulay Culkin and Mila Kunis Split Up; David Arquette Enters Rehab
Anne Francis and Pete Postlethwaite Pass Away
According to E! Online, actress Anne Francis passed away Sunday due to complications from pancreatic cancer, joining her Forbidden Planet co-star Leslie Nielsen, who died in November. Francis, 80, not only starred in the famous sci-fi film but was also well-known for her role as detective Honey West in the television show of the same name (Francis won a Golden Globe for her performance, though the show was axed after one season).
Also passing away on Sunday was British actor Pete Postlethwaite, 64, after an extensive battle with cancer. Known for his unique, strong voice and incredible presence, Postlethwaite made his mark with such films as The Usual Suspects, Amistad, Romeo + Juliet and In the Name of the Father. Postletwaite also appeared in this summer's blockbuster hit Inception despite his illness.
Both of these shining stars will be deeply missed.
It's Rehab for David Arquette
The news that Arquette entered rehab as 2011 begins should come as a surprise to no one. The actor, who is being treated for alcoholism as well as other issues, seemed to lose control late last year after he and wife Courteney Cox separated. On the heels of the separation, Arquette took to the airwaves to discuss his family's private life with Howard Stern, joking about having a nervous breakdown and admitting to having problems with alcohol.
And when one actor enters rehab, another one leaves it.
Lindsay Lohan vacated the Betty Ford Center after serving her 90 days. According to E! Online, the actress' next plan of action will include finding a sobriety coach and deciding whether or not to live in New York or Los Angeles. She is still on probation and will return to court on Feb. 25 for a progress hearing on her 2007 DUI conviction. The actress was sentenced back in July for violating the terms of her probation in the 2007 conviction when she failed to attend alcohol education classes and submit to random drug tests.
Here's hoping both of them can find themselves and get their lives back on track.
Oh yeah, Mila Kunis and Macaulay Culkin Split Up
This may be the first time Macaulay Culkin's been in the spotlight in years! Though they were rarely seen in the spotlight together, the two actors (who were apparently together for seven years) called it quits quite a while ago, but just announced the news. According to USA Today, the split-up was kept under wraps so Kunis could promote her film Black Swan. Don't worry--none of us really knew they were together either. But hey, good news: apparently they're still friends!
