UNAIDS Ambassador Annie Lennox Will Be a Featured Performer and Speaker at TEDGlobal 2010 on July 14th
Lennox will be joined by analytical psychologist Inge Missmahl, HIV/AIDS fighter Mitchell Besser, singer Karsu Donmez, designer John Hardy, and green chef Arthur Potts Dawson.
What or Who is TED?
TED is a non-profit organization dedicated and devoted to "Ideas Worth Spreading". The organization was founded in 1984 and was originally dedicated to spreading ideas involving technology, entertainment and design (TED) but in current years has grown to involve spreading ideas in science, politics, global issues, architecture, science, arts, music and so much more.
What is TEDGlobal 2010?
TEDGlobal 2010 is a 4 day conference featuring activists, advocates, doctors, scientist, artists politicians and many others who are the "remarkable architects of the future". TEDGlobal 2010's main website sums up the conference as, "Headlines remind us daily of the political, economic and environmental woes facing the planet. But behind the scenes lie an amazing array of new ideas, new science, new technology, new social and political thinking, new art and a new understanding of who we are. What Will Annie Lennox Being Speaking About at TEDGlobal 2010?
Lennox announced on facebook that during the Healthier Together session she will be speaking about her work with The Sing Campaign which she founded and their efforts to combat HIV/AIDS all over the world. It is quite possible that she may also speak out about recent discoveries in the HIV/AIDS fight. One recent discovery is the possibility of vaccinations against the deadly disease which was reported on Time.com in the article "AIDS Vaccine: The Promise of HIV Antibodies" by Alice Park.
