Anniversary of 9/11 with a Quran Burning

On September 9^th, 2010 there is a threat from a pastor in Gainsville, Florida of a possible book burning of the Quran. The pastor announced the event as a message to Islamic that America is not afraid. The Rev. Jerry Jones is an extremist for Christianity and runs the Dove World OutReach Center in Florida. Over the past few weeks he has gained notoriety over the situation and has become a concern for everyone.

The Rev. Terry Jones has built up a reputation of being the face against the Quran. In 2005, the Dove World OutReach Center printed off T-shirts the read "Islam of the Devil." And recently he has had two of his websites shutdown due to hate about the Quran. Terry Jones has also setup a facebook page about the support against the Quran. He plans to do the burning on 9/11/2010 at the Dove World Outreach Center during the hours of 6 and 9 P.M.

Many people are protesting the actions taken by the reverend, both Muslims and Americans alike. The Muslims see this action as an insult against the religion. . The Quran is viewed by Muslims as the literal translation of God. In Pakistani the punishment for burning the Quran is life in-prisonment

Many people see this incident as a danger for the soldiers fighting in the war. There was similar incident where interrogators in Guantanamo Bay flushed down pages of the Quran book down the toilet, in order to gain information from inmates. Later there were riots in Afghanistan that killed 15 and injured several more. The actions of the Rev. Terry Jones, in essence puts the lives of the Patriots across the seas in dangerous waters.

The Rev. Terry Jones is a radical with little concern for the repercussions of his actions. Whether you are a supporter or against the actions of the Dove World Outreach Center, it is time to sit down and think about the seriousness of these implications. --------------------------
