How could we know our love would grow?
Times have changed
But love remains
Let us drink champagne
A kiss, a sigh, I am your bride
The path of life, right by your side
Times have changed
But love remains
Let us drink champagne
Through ups and downs and thick and thin
My rock, my light and my dear friend
Times have changed
But love remains
Let us drink champagne
We share a past and so much more
You are the one I still adore
Times have changed
But love remains
Let us drink champagne
Somehow we managed to be here
My love, my mate of 50 years
Times have changed
But love remains
Let us drink champagne

Post a CommentYes, quite something. My parents made it to 46 years - until my Dad died. He seemed to get more romantic the older he got!
I love this! My hubby and I have been married only 14 years, but I look forward to our 50th! Beautiful!
Awwwwww, that's just darling. Happy Anniversary to them. Best wishes to you and your family for the holidays and throughout the new year.
What a lovely piece, Langley! Kudos to you and your husband and here's drinking to another 50 yrs! :o)
Happy Anniversary to two very special people.
A beautiful milestone. Am sure you were and are very happy for them. Nice tribute.
So heartfelt and beautiful! Thanks, Langley!
Oh, this is beautiful, and I commend your parents (like my and my wife's grandparents; @ 63 years each) for showing this 'easy out' world that anyone can beat the odds! I hope that's where Luchrisa and I will end up in 2044! Most excellent tribute, and I hope they loved it as much as you obviously love them!
Very nice thoughts.
Believe it or not, I actually have close acquaintances who have reached this remarkable milestone! So wonderful to know that love can last through the decades!! Thanks for sharing these sentiments in such a lovely poem.
