My parents and I were never really close back then. That is beginning to change for the better. Anyways, back to the story. I had written an article on my fears of being pregnant and raising a child as a single parent.
I linked the article to myspace profile. My step brother happened to be my on friend's list. He read the article and announced it to the family. It should have come from me but it didn't, not exactly.
I should have not been so scared to tell them. Do I regret how it was announced? No not entirely. I should have put my fears aside and announced it myself. It was hard for me to tell my anyone, especially my family.
The announcement was a surprise to everyone. I still laugh to this day about how silly I was to be so scared. No matter how terrified I was, I should have been the one to tell everyone. I wasn't ashamed to be pregnant, I was terrified. There is a big difference. I love my son more than anything. He is my world, my everything.
