Announcing a Second Pregnancy

When I found out I was pregnant with my second child, my oldest was 17 months old.

It was just before Christmas and this baby was an unexpected surprise for us.

We weren't sure how to tell my parents and family that we were expecting again but decided we would let our son help.

Right after the positive pregnancy test, we found a bargain on a double stroller at a local store and snatched it up since we knew we'd need it.

We decided to use it to announce our news.

We invited my parents, grandmother and brother and sister-in-law to our home under the guise of showing them our Christmas decorations and some work we'd done in our living room.

Before they arrived, I hung our son's Christmas stocking in a prominent place in the living room and next to it, a smaller stocking with the word "baby" written on it. Nobody noticed that little hint!

After everyone arrived and were sitting around visiting, I took our son into his bedroom, got the double stroller and let him help me push it into the living room.

I said "Let me show you one of our Christmas presents - we're going to need it in the summer."

It took a few minutes for what I said to sink in and the fact that we were pushing a double stroller. All was silent.

Then my mom asked "What? Are you pregnant again?"

I nodded and everyone began talking about the exciting news!
