One of the goals of the Festival is to encourage local student and professional artists by providing them with an incentive to create artwork and an excellent opportunity to exhibit it. They feel it is very important to appeal to local artists with a venue such as this. As an artist in general, it is important to have various opportunities to exhibit your work, not just in galleries. One is able to not only make contacts with fellow artists, but to meet people in the community and get feedback from individuals in general about the general appeal of your work. It is also an excellent networking opportunity. Artists will often have their portfolio there for people to look through, which gives one a more complete impression of their scope of work; if they don't have all of their works there to exhibit.
This outdoor show takes place on the walking bridge between Columbia, NJ and Portland, PA over the scenic Delaware River. This was once a covered bridge that was washed away by the flood of 1955. In addition to Fine Arts and Crafts, there will also be a barn tour, an antique car show, food, music, a barn tour, and various demonstrations.
