If there were no deaths, there would be no need for cemeteries. In the case of Greenwood Cemetery, it was a double homicide involving a mother and daughter that occurred in 1825.
This year's annual cemetery tour will be held on Sept. 24, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. It will feature people dressed up in period costumes. Stationed at gravesites in different parts of the cemetery, they will be ready to tell you about the people who now rest among the rows of graves. The cost is $5 per person; advanced reservations are required. For more information and reservation requests, please call 248-530-1928.
