Annual Job Quitting Day

Michael Grisso
Yes, your read it right "Annual Job Quitting Day". Why Not? I mean there are tons of people that celebrate 4/20 or April 20th as National Pot Smoking Day or whatever they call it so why can't there be a day when everyone just up and leaves there jobs. I used to work at a restaurant where there was a day that all Mexicans that were employed didn't come to work. Could you imagine if we all did this and the tailspin that would occur in the United States?

Businesses would have to shut down losing thousands and for some millions of dollars. Then of course all the streets would look like some professional sporting team won their championships as cars are turned over and fires in the streets. While there will probably never be a day like this I'm sure you've at one point or another felt like just not going into work anymore or getting up in the middle of your day and leaving for good. It happens all the time mostly due to altercations or just utter boredom getting burnt out doing the same thing over and over again.

Realistically though because of many reasons people do this all the time where you could come to believe that Annual Job Quitting Day happens 365 days a year. Many times involving people that can't afford to quit there jobs due to bills from mortgages, rent, electric, car payments, and........OK I'll stop probably stressin' you out already. Anyways since most likely you can't just up and leave your job I am putting the pressure all on me to help you at least have some laughs while you are at work in hopes of making your day more enjoyable and even your co-workers as well.

Today is a couple quick stories that I have come across that I know you will enjoy. Whenever you are watching the news before you go to bed you will always find someone that has robbed a house, store, bank or person and there is some 800 crime stoppers phone number for you to call to catch the culprits. In these two instances this was never the case. Although funny these are actually true stories for the most part that actually happened.

In 1999 a man from Arkansas robbed the Marketed Tree Bank. After investigating the scene police officers were stumped as to why the robber had only gotten away with a clock radio, CD player, and a couple handfuls of dum-dum suckers (I like the root beer ones) on the way out, but for some reason took no money. As the investigation continued one of the officers happened to notice a dum-dum wrapper outside the bank and later on noticed another. As they continued to find wrappers they eventually led the police right to the mobile home of the man who had made the robbery where he was arrested. I wonder if he got an advertisement deal!

Yea, I thought that was the Dum-Dumbest ever when it came to robberies, until of course I read this one.

In Washington is a local store called H & J Leather and Firearms, specializing in handguns. A man decided he was going to rob the local store and even walked past a marked police vehicle on his way through the front door. Once inside he noticed the police officer drinking some coffee at the counter and chatting with the owner along with several customers when he yelled that it was a hold up and that everyone better place their hands on the counters or they would be killed. The officer and store owner drew there guns and fired shots at the robber along with many of the customers killing him at the front door. After the investigation 47 empty shells cases were found on the scene coming from 7 different weapons. When the autopsy was performed they found 23 gunshot wounds on the victim. Talk about some target practice! It is still unknown if the guns used were purchased after the incident.

I hope you enjoyed these short stories and I will continue to give one as often as I can. So don't forget to subscribe and look for headlines in my articles that will be titled Annual Job Quitting Day: Day #2, 3, etc. etc. Your job may suck, but you can at least have some fun while your there. Until Next Time..................
