We remain an enigma to a degree
What goes on in our minds is not always certain
We tend to be more than just what people see
Do I ever hold back feelings?
In person, I am a master of disguise
But on the computer, there is that buffer
I can let down my guard; sometimes anything flies
The internet world does not see your eyes
Which as we know are the windows to the soul
We can be a freer with emotions that in person we hide
We give up the need for absolute control
There is no substitute for the human touch
We need it to live; it opens our heart
But sometimes the gift of anonymity
Is that it gives us the strength to fall apart

Post a CommentGreat poem.
GOOD POEM!
You put this together so nicely. Very well expressed!
you are right there is no substitute for the human touch and I feel so isolated always in front of my computer never seeing my old friends
You've got a great knack of putting words down and feelings too. I hold back the feelings of hurt until I have a good cry, then I am o.k. Not too many hurts anymore.
God saw to that.
Beautiful poetry and such tender thoughts.
Amen to this Donna. Artificial intelligence is nothing like human intelligence and nothing compares to the human touch. Nicely done.
O' so very true!
Excellently said!
so wise!
