Another 40 Days and 40 Nights of Paris - but Will We See Coverage from Her Home - or Jail?
Paris Ordered to Court for Judge to Decide
Stated in the Herald Tribune, "The city attorney filed a petition for an order to show cause why the sheriff should not be held in contempt for releasing Ms. Hilton, and demanded that she be held in custody," Superior Court spokesman Allan Parachini said late Thursday afternoon.
Paris Hilton, who began her court-ordered 45-day jail sentence on Sunday, was released early this morning due to "medical conditions". Ms Hilton was fitted with an ankle device and allowed to return home to serve the remainder of her sentence under house arrest.
Even though Ms Hilton was released from the women's detention center in Lynwood,California, she is still technically held in custody since she is serving her time under the house arrest program.
As for the mysterious "medical condition" that enabled the release of Paris Hilton, BoDog Beat reports that her medical condition "was purely psychological and that she was in danger of having a nervous breakdown".
This report on BoDog Beat goes on to explain the proper procedure that should have been followed if an inmates medical situation warrants a change in sentencing. BoDog Beat goes on to explain how the proper procedure was not followed in regards to Ms Hilton's case.
Ms Hilton was originally detained in the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, California in a special needs area that kept her separated from the general population. Paris Hilton turned herself into authorities this past Sunday night after her appearance at the MTV Awards in order to begin her sentence for violation of probation.
According to Yahoo News, Paris Hilton released a brief statement regarding her release. Ms. Hilton is quoted as saying, "...I am going to serve the remaining 40 days of my sentence. I have learned a great deal from this ordeal and hope that others have learned from my mistakes."
Yahoo News also quotes Steve Cron, an attorney who has represented many celebrities as saying, "I think the sheriff was just tired of the paparazzi and the increased security problems. ... I don't buy the reasons they gave."
The news of the release of Paris Hilton may not have shocked the world, but as for where we will be seeing the story covered from is now the cliff-hanger as the on-going drama of Paris Hilton unfolds. Will we spend the next 40 days and 40 nights receiving breaking news from outside Ms Hiltons home in Hollywood Hills, or from the Century Regional Detention Facility? A judge will decide tomorrow.

Post a CommentI've had the news on TV in the background while working tonight. Did any of y'all hear her taped SCREAMS as she was led off back to jail? YIKES!
Poor little rich girl. I applaud the judge for putting her back in jail. "It's not fair!"??????????????? Paris and her pampered mother both have some real problems!
From the NY Times - "As Ms. Hilton was led away to await her trip back to jail, she turned to her parents and said, "It's not right!" The Associated Press reported."
I wonder how much the ones who released her early got paid. The psychiatrist and sheriff should go to jail too.
A further thought is... What message does this REALLY send to kids?? Take chances and do stupid things. If you get sent to jail and aren't happy there...you can get out.
I agree, all! Jail is a depressing place...it's where one goes to do time for the crime. Yet she gets out? note to self: If ever in jail cell, get depressed, and get out!
That whole "nervous breakdown" thing would work for any of us, right?? Paris didn't receive any special treatment, did she? Noooooo..
This is one of the greatest PR stunts EVER.
Awwwww she is having a nervous breakdown? I feel so sorry for her, how about all the other inmates that have nervous breakdowns, and go on hunger strikes, gee Paris I am so sorry you were setting such a good example to other young people, by serving your time for your drunken law breaking ways, now go back and handle it like a lady!
hmmmm Is that fair? She should be in jail!
She went crying back to jail.. I love it!!.. She deserves it.. Just cause she has money does not mean she gets treated better than anyone else... Great reporting..
