Another Baby Dies at the Hands of Mother
Mother Kills 6 Week Old Child Because He Cried
Lavida Davis admitted to killing her 6 week old infant because he cried and she couldn't quiet him. If convicted, she could face the death penalty.
Ms. Davis admitted to police that she suffocated the child and in the same interview, admitted to suffocating her 22 day old infant for the same reason in 2004. Using a pillow, she pressed it on the child's face until he was no longer breathing.
Darion, the deceased infant, has a twin that was taken into protective custody.
Police didn't say how it came to be that she confessed, or arrived at the police station.
