But to me this rarefied world of the internet psychic is indeed the most fraught of places. And the atmosphere there amongst the psychics can be more paranoid than in the general atmosphere inside a prison about to explode. Indeed I feel safer in prison than I feel in many places.
The site (which I shall call 'the place') is often full of the most bizarre types of people with a multitude of mental illnesses, psychological and emotional issues that they regularly choose to dump onto unsuspecting internet psychics.
I would say that a good half of my potential clientele are either victims or perpetrators of domestic and interpersonal abuse.
Perhaps I get a higher incidence of these sorts cos of my location and time zone.
My time zone is such that to most of the callers it would be late night, early morning or middle of the night. Anyways I call it the grave-yarders and wacko's shift. Maybe they are sleepless and tormented and come hunting an internet psychic to vent their internal pressures onto.
To my mind there are so many things wrong with 'this place' that I am sure I could fill up a whole book - and perhaps one day I will. In fact I found an author in here who wanted to, as he said, "Take them on" and I'm wondering what he meant by that.
I note that when I punch in the word 'internet psychic' into the AC search there are only 2 authors who appear - and the other author writes sickly sweet articles that are like veiled advertising singing the praises of both the sites and the psychics.
Anyways suffice to say that usually half the clients are various types of those who I shall call 'wacko's'. And the site owners remain steadfast and resolute in refusing to recognize their existence - let alone acknowledge that we innocent psychics might well need some form of protection from them and their ways.
'The place' has many inbuilt and iniquitous mechanisms inherent in the site design and subsequent service delivery.
Is there an entrepreneur out there who would like to know how to run a good and ethical online psychic business??? Well get right back to me if you happen to be listening. If you're interested in more than just raking in the biggest bucks possible and would like to provide a high quality environment for both clients and psychics alike I would be very pleased to hear from you.
Suffice to say that I do a lot of free work on the site. By free work I mean work that I am not paid to do; such as talking to potential clients trying to ascertain if they might abuse me and damage my reputation.
This sort of thing is very easy to do as the site operates on a star rating system. Anyone who thinks that such a system can be fair is very seriously deluded.
Those stars are at the root of nearly all of the evil that is or can be perpetrated at 'this place'. And most of the psychics know that unless you have a 5 star rating there isn't gonna be many clients looking for your services.
So most of the psychics have developed their own little strategies for ensuring they keep a 5 star rating. Mine involves vetting potential clients and making them jump through some troublesome hoops. For this reason - plus the difficulties caused by my time zone clientele can often be very hard to find.
In the last month I have been abused by 2 clients - and this number happens to constitute a very high percentage of my clientele. Anyone who thinks internet psychics are raking it in should think again. Although some do - but why they do is another matter entirely.
If there were no stars I would most likely make a far better income cos clients would not have the unfair power such stars can afford them. I'd then be far more likely talk to anyone. And I reckon those 'wacko's' would be disarmed and might take themselves and their predatory behaviors elsewhere. But then the site would make much less money for its owners too - and I reckon they might well know this fact.
Usually before taking on a client I like to go through a verification process. This involves making sure I am connected to the client's situation. This happens before the client gets an opportunity to hire me.
Many of the clients in this environment know that many psychics do this - and they exploit this fact to the max. They often use it as a ploy for getting free readings. And there are a whole lot of them who are serial offenders. We psychics only know this cos we have devised our own little 'safe havens' in closed membership online mailing lists. The company itself would never give us such info.
So - today I encountered another predator who I would give a 5 star abuse rating if I had an opportunity. She had truly devised an interesting technique for abusing online psychics such as me.
In fact I suspect it may have been a teenage student using her mother's credit card even. I like to read from a photo and I was sent a photo of a woman of around 43 years old.
Now from my vast experience I know when I'm right and onto something. Also I sent back the usual verification email before hire.
She hired me and she was very positive. She said very encouraging things when we were chatting freely before hire. She solicited further information and gave much encouragement and positive feedback. She even went as far as to say, "You rock".
Though the story completely changed when we got into my room and she was paying me. She loudly (as in CAPS lock) contradicted completely everything that I said.
It was actually kind of funny and might make a good comedy skit.
She said stuff such as, "I would rather pull out both of my eye sockets than ever travel again", and "I've hardly ever made a good career decision in the last 25 years" and "I now make 1/8 of what I used to get paid and now I have to work 13 hours a day non-stop". Though her best comment was something like, "I hate comedians and never find anything funny". Nothing has come her way in life except extreme hurt and disappointments in her whole 43 years she said.
Into the reading I suggested she should get a refund. Now bear in mind that I had probably focused nearly an hour of my time with her at this point in some way or other. Then she had the gall to say to me that how could I organize a refund if I had not already provided the reading in it's entirety.
I told her to get out of my room where she was paying a very cheap rate to talk to me and come back into my free room so we could try work out this problem. Which she duly and most promptly did.
I asked her if she was conducting an experiment, or doing some kind of weird research to see how online psychics react when confronted with loud and negative clients, having a lend of me and soliciting a bit of comedic relief or writing an article. Then I wished her all the best in finding another more suitable psychic and stopped talking to her.
In fact I feel bad that I should encourage her in seeking out another poor online psychic to be her next victim. But really there were no other choices. And now I have to face the embarrassment of contacting site support to organize a refund for her. Though perhaps I won't need to as she most likely is what we call a 'chargeback' or credit card fraud.
What a waste of my time such a client can be. Lookout for the internet psychic comedy skit that I might put up on you-tube one day soon!!!!
And another day goes by without scoring a paying or honest client on the site where clients can hold psychics to ransom with an undeserved threat of damage to their reputations.

the annoyances you stated are indeed a concern for online delivery of readings that is why i choose not to be a part of that circus i hope that one day the industry becomes more viable in the cyberspace airwaves enjoyed reading your article
I guess you never know what you're getting into online. I have been fortunate enough to pay for and get some extraordinary readings from a certain person. I know that you would do a great job, too. Happy Mother's Day!
