I was sure that he lied.
"Look on the bright side,"
He said with a smile.
Things will get better after awhile.
I am certain time will heal all your pain
And hearing my name won't drive you insane.
So I then patiently waited for time
Calling him would feel like a crime.
I shunned our favorite site
To avoid an embarrassing plight.
Time has finally gone by
And seldom a day do I cry.
Wasted tears on him would be a sin,
As I remind myself often to grin.

Great job!
Poetry can help us express our feelings in a way we can share. Thanks for share!
We have to face the realities, however harsh it might be! We have to keep going, no other way. One door closes, many open for us to choose - cheers - siva
Very nice!!
Very compelling, dark poem, but it seemed a reason to smile was found in the conclusion to this poem
Keep grinning, another door will open for you.
Some doors are worth permanently sealing after they close - others, might be worth taking a peek into at another time. Knowing which is which really matters.
Makes me sad.
Glad you can grin!
