Another Saturday Night in Front of the Television?

How to Get Him to Take You Out!

D.N. Howard
It's the weekend and you want to go out and enjoy it, but as usual he wants to stay in and watch a movie or a sports event on television. How do you get him to go out with you without whining or appearing too controlling?

If you want him to take you out more than one time, you don't want to force him to go to a place where he would feel uncomfortable, bored, or out of his element. Take stock of things you might have in common and try one of these ideas.

Find a band in which you are both interested and buy tickets for him. It's a gift you can both enjoy. He will love that you gave him a gift and you will love it that he is sharing that gift with you. Along those same lines:

Fandango movie tickets. You can buy tickets online. Once you have the tickets it will be hard for him to say no. It would be a waste of money! Be sure to choose something both of you would like. Chick flicks should be seen with your friends.

Go see a game. There is so much more to do at sports events than just sit and cheer. There are tailgate parties (much fun) food, fireworks, and sometimes promotions that include music events or talent acts. There is nothing wrong with sitting and cheering either, it can be quite exhilarating and where else do you get a chance to let your frustrations out on a complete stranger without repercussions?

Invite him out in a creative way. Download some seductive pictures from a local photo or art exhibit and on it scribble, "Want to see more?" Tape it to the bathroom mirror. Include the date and time, maybe he will accept your invitation or suggest an alternative. Or you could make up a certificate for a night on the town and present it to him on a Thursday night at dinner time. He will have all day Friday to choose a place to take you!

Suggest you take turns dating each other. Tell him you want to take him out this weekend and you want him to take you out next week. He chooses a venue that you will love, and you do the same for him. You both will have to be creative and learn about each other to choose a suitable date night.

Make a picnic dinner and invite friends. On a warm day have a little party in the park! Get together with a friend and scheme a double date. Make sure he likes the other couple and include some activities so no one gets bored. A board game (with pieces that won't fly away in the wind) a Frisbee, four Nerf guns or squirt guns, or a set of horseshoes will do!

Take a drive. Ask him to go with you to the store then kidnap him for a long drive. Know some beautiful sunset spots, time it so you end up in an isolated but beautiful place and make your own 'make out point'.

You don't have to spend a lot of money or plan something elaborate to get your man out of the house, just use your imagination and pay attention to the things he likes to do to get him to date you like a new mate! It might be the re- start of a beautiful relationship!
