Another Sleepless Night

( Sleep's Elusiveness )

Whyte Panther

by Whyte Panther(Luigi Fiorino)

Another sleepless night
No desperately needed rest
It was stolen by the nothingness
That now sits within my chest

There is no melancholy
Nor is there any sadness
I'm not kept up by old regret
Nor any anger nor the madness

The void somehow has gripped me
The vacuous lack of light
And yet I'm not in darkness
Despite my vanished sight

I am not in a panic
I do not feel any fear
It only feels like something
Isn't but somehow should be here

Don't know why I am not tired
When I really should be spent
It's all just so confusing
Don't know where the sleepiness went

I sit here at the keyboard
Spewing words into the night
In hopes that in their sharing
Whatever's wrong will be set right

But no magic has been woven
And the time keeps creeping by
The morning sun will climb the wall
And soon will reach my eye

So sleep eludes me once again
Another notch on nothingness' belt
One day we'll settle up the score
And it'll know just how I felt
