Another New Years Resolution

Each New Year's Resolution is the Same. It is Only the Age that Changes

Sondra C
New Year resolutions are a part of a New Year
Most of the time we resolve to lose weight
We join a weight loss club to help us
in our resolution
by the end of week we have
forgotten all about it.

In all my years I have resolved
to keep to some type of resolution
When I was a teen
I resolved to always
do my homework and get good grades.

This lasted about a month or until
I met a guy at school
that liked me
took me to the movies
As a result
I had little time to do homework

When I got a little older
and had a steady date
I made my New Years Resolution
to only date him
and no others

This resolution lasted
until this new guy came to school
He was in my Biology class
and we did homework together
every day and went out on weekends

The end of my resolution.....
I stopped seeing the other guy!

I wonder at times
Why it is that people make
New Years Resolutions
What makes this day
different than all others?

We should always do our homework
be kind to our friends, neighbors and family
We should always eat less to lose weight
We should also be kind to others and
Not talk about others in an unkind way

The only ones that actually benefit
from all of those lose weight resolutions
are the various Diet Clubs
like Weight Watchers
who make money on their
special Join the club offers.

Keep your money
you know exactly what to do
to lose the extra pounds
put on during the years

Eat less, keep away from sweets
and count your calories

This is the secret - now put the money
into your pocket.
and
Have a Wonderful Happy & HealthNew Year!

Each year we seem to make the same resolutions. A week later we go back to our old habits. Why do we even think about making a Resolution? Maybe it is because of the constant advertisements on the television urging us to lose weight
