Answered Prayer
Crying out to the Lord
Of what He heard, wondering
How much was absorbed
If between the clamoring
Words of despair and tears
The anguish was felt
As I divulged my fears
Of ever having someone
Who truly understands
Laughs at my jokes
Wants to hold my hand
Someone that gets me
The way He does
Believes in romance
And 'just because'
Catapults me into greatness
Past paralyzing fears
Sees me for who I am
Regardless of how it appears
Wants more for me
Than I could want for self
Gallantly sacrifices all
Endeavoring to help
Loves me in ways
Previously never received
Earnest, vulnerable and open
No machination to deceive
The one I can turn to
In whom I believe
Becoming my best friend
Hurt and pain they relieve
Indisputable He hears
Confidently certain He cares
For He sent me you...
