Arbor Lofts Gallery
Located in downtown Lancaster on Lancaster Boulevard, the Arbor Lofts Gallery is also known as the Artists Lofts Gallery.
Shows here have explored a wide range of styles and types of art. A tattoo art show was followed by a light show which was followed by an exhibit showcasing local talent. The exhibits at Arbor Lofts Gallery are always group oriented with three or more artists showing.
Gallery shows at the "industrially" themed, cement-walled Lofts Gallery usually run for one month and occur with increasing frequency as the space grows more established in Lancaster.
The Arbor Lofts, beyond the gallery space, serves as community housing for artists.
You can learn more about the Arbor Lofts Gallery and see news for upcoming and current shows at their website. You can also read about past shows and find updates on many art events in the Antelope Valley at the Antelope Valley Arts Blog.
Sagebrush Café Coffee & Art House
A coffee house that has figured out a way to put art at the forefront of the café experience, Sagebrush Café presents a unique Antelope Valley experience. Styles in the Sagebrush Café shows have ranged from assemblage to photography and from water colors to scientific-fantasy illustration.
The coffee and art house is located in Quartz Hill. They draw their artists from the local area but have shown the work of artists from Illinois and from Ojai and Oakland, California. The coffee house likes to show one artist at a time in a solo show, but occasionally pairs artists or hosts a group show.
Art is displayed here in a shelf-format with pale desert colors as the warm background for some of the art and all of the café. Learn more about Sagebrush Cafe and its gallery space at their website.
Lake Hughes Art Guild Gallery
In Lake Hughes on Lake Hughes road the Lakes Hughes Art Guild runs a nice gallery space. This space is located in a building that looks like a house, but has an open floor-plan inside.
There are works from many members of the guild on display at all times, with each artist getting his or her own section on the walls.
The Lakes Hughes Art Guild Gallery also uses free standing partitions to break up the space and also to serve as showcase space. The current show is displayed in a space delineated by a tall partition, with some of the art hung on the partition itself.
This is gallery presents a wide view of local artists, with a number of artists on display at all times. By comparison, the Arbor Lofts and Sagebrush Café gallery spaces have a greater focus on theme driven shows.
