The Basic Understanding
Getting familiar with anterior shin splints all revolves around the muscle in the shin area. It's protected by a thin sheath, but there are times where the muscle can twist inside this encasement. When it does you may end up creating tiny tears within it. This can cause all kinds of pain and take longer to heal.
Then again, it's also possible for you to simply rub the muscle against the sheath. When this occurs there will be inflammation and pain to follow.
